We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer IV with extensive experience building scalable cloud-based applications in NodeJS and/or Kotlin. The engineer will work on a highly collaborative and high-functioning team working to support an industry-leading clinical data application portfolio hosted on AWS that is improving the quality of clinical data to make that data more actionable, useful and meaningful for analytical and downstream clinical purposes.
What you will be doing:
- Designing, building and maintaining NodeJS and Kotlin services and applications
- Writing maintainable code that is easy to understand
- Designing and developing scalable services and systems that follow industry best practices for maintainability, observability and performance.
- Collaborating with and mentoring team members
- Creating standards for and documenting the systems you build
- Participating in code reviews for code written by other team members
- Helping to troubleshoot and fix issues with production-deployed software and services
- Participating in a highly collaborative scrum team that includes daily stand-ups and regular sprint activities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor s degree in computer science or a related field of study or the equivalent in documented work experience.
- 8+ years of progressive work experience developing software products
- 3+ years in technical leadership within an enterprise
- Experience working with AWS and/or Azure
- Experience with automated unit testing and acceptance testing frameworks (Mocha, Selenium, Puppeteer)
- Working experience with source code version control (preferably Git and GitHub)
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
- Proven commitment to working in a senior engineer role, including mentoring and design guidance
- NodeJS and Typescript experience
- Kotlin or other JVM-based language experience
- MongoDB or other NoSQL experience
- Kafka, RabbitMQ, or other messaging experience
- Temporal.io or other workflow engine experience
