A Day in the Life

Serves as subject matter expert on the application of data science and machine learning methods to analyze multimodality diagnostic data in support of drug development applications

Conceives, prototypes and implements algorithms and software tools to solve complex data science problems driven by strategic business needs

Optimizes algorithms and platforms for efficiency, accuracy, and scalability

Keeps up-to-date with and assesses technology advances

Creates intellectual property on related topics

Creating the blueprint for data platforms, ensuring they align with the organization's goals and requirements.

Identifying and recommending the appropriate tools, technologies, and frameworks for data storage, processing, and analytics.

Developing and maintaining data models (conceptual, logical, and physical) to support the organization's data needs.

Designing and implementing data integration solutions, including ETL/ELT processes, to ensure data flows seamlessly across systems.

Establishing data governance and quality standards to maintain data accuracy and compliance with regulations.

Continuously optimizing the data platform for performance, cost-effectiveness, and minimal downtime.

Implementing robust security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.

Maintaining comprehensive documentation of the data platform's architecture, configurations, and processes.

Collaborate with Leadership, business associates, Product Managers, and other stakeholders to translate business needs into technical and functional requirements

Advice on Industry standards, tools, and applications within the domains of Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, and Data Science, and demonstrate the ability to select the most appropriate options from the available alternatives.

Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence in engineering practices.

Build production grade models on large-scale datasets to optimize marketing performance by utilizing advanced statistical modeling, machine learning, or data mining techniques

Analyze, define, design and document requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment

Collaborate closely with other Solution Architects and Enterprise Architecture stakeholders to ascertain the seamless integration and alignment to Medtronic Standards

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

Bachelors (Required)

Minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience

3 to 5 years of SQL exposure

Nice to Have

Experience in working with cross functional team and alignment creation.

Must be aware about enterprise IT function and working proceess/methodologies

Experience in developing conceptual, logical and physical data models, to support Business requirements

Competence in constructing enterprise models through metadata modeling, with a focus on Analytics, AI, and ML.

Experience in creating BRD, FDD & TDD for data & analytics project.

Strong understanding on IT-OT connectivity and manufacturing application such as SCADA , PLC , ERP, HRMS, MES etc.

Experience of implementing physical models for interfaces, data stores and/or cloud-based solutions

A strong track record in optimizing data lake infrastructure to enhance data throughput, minimize downtime, and maximize scalability.

Designing data integration, data management, data governance, and data quality assessment within the framework of ETL/ELT integration solutions for data engineering.

Finalize architectural decisions across relational, multi-dimensional, cloud and distributed and object- based storage platforms

Solid understanding of competitive Data Platforms

Familiarity with modern big data tools and techniques

Exposure to Snowflake and databases like SQL, Oracle

Experience working AWS Data Stack using S3, EMR, Data Pipeline

Development experience in NOSQL like HBASE or Cassandra

Experience in building scalable service using REST/JSON

Development experience serialization framework Avro or Thrift or Protobuf

Experience with Github, JIRA & Confluence
