Job Description

• Database Installation and Configuration:
• Install and configure PostgreSQL database software on servers and ensure proper setup.
• Create and manage database instances, schemas, and tablespaces based on application requirements.
• Perform database migrations, upgrades, and patch installations.
• Database Design and Optimization:
• Collaborate with application developers and system administrators to design efficient database schemas and structures.
• Optimize database performance by analyzing query execution plans, indexing strategies, and system resource utilization.
• Tune database parameters and configurations to improve overall system performance.
• Database Monitoring and Maintenance:
• Monitor and maintain the health, availability, and security of PostgreSQL database systems.
• Set up database monitoring tools and implement proactive measures to identify and resolve issues.
• Perform regular database backups, implement disaster recovery strategies, and ensure data integrity.
• Performance Tuning and Query Optimization:
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks by analyzing SQL queries and suggesting optimizations.
• Fine-tune database parameters, indexes, and caching mechanisms to improve application performance.
• Conduct capacity planning to anticipate future database growth and resource requirements.
• Database Security and Access Control:
• Implement and enforce security policies and access controls to safeguard sensitive data.
• Apply security patches and upgrades to protect the database from vulnerabilities.
• Manage user accounts, roles, and privileges to ensure appropriate data access levels.
• Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:
• Investigate and resolve database-related issues, such as connectivity problems, data corruption, and performance degradation.
• Work closely with development teams to diagnose and resolve application-level database issues.
• Maintain documentation and knowledge base to capture troubleshooting steps and solutions.
