Design Engineer @ Tao Digital

Further to our discussion in the ABR today wanted to check on if the team can support on the requriement to work on a GIS data engineering topic publishing HERE content such as road topologies, traffic, places, etc. into a format / destination that is compatible with ArcGIS (e.g. FGDB as one example).

It would be interested to know if you have engineers that are familiar with the HERE tech stack and software development with ArcGIS / GIS in general. As an example skill set, you can see this job description as below

Your Responsibilities :

• Designing and architecting scalable, maintainable, and efficient software solutions


• Making high-level decisions regarding system design, technology stacks, and software development methodologies


• Writing and reviewing high-quality, robust, and secure code


• Ensuring adherence to coding standards, best practices, and company policies


• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members

Who are you?

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Expert knowledge of ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, and ArcGIS Online


• Experience working with location data (e.g. maps, addresses, POIs, etc. in various schemas (GeoJSON, FGDB, etc.)) and using packages such as ArcPy and GeoPandas


• Demonstrated expertise in Python programming, with the ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code for complex systems and a deep understanding of advanced Python concepts (e.g., asynchronous programming, memory optimization, and design patterns)


• Experience with common data stores ( relational databases, distributed databases)


• Experience with CI/CD systems such as GitLab, GitHub,


• Experience with ETL processes and tooling (AWS Glue, FME, etc.)


• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities


• Proven experience in data engineering projects


• Strong communication and collaboration skills in English

Additional competencies:

• Familiarity with other GIS software and tools


• GISP certification


• Experience working with 3D content, such as 3D buildings


• Experience with cloud infrastructure, such as AWS or Azure


• Experience in web development scripting languages such as JavaScript

We are specifically looking for people in senior roles as we are starting from scratch, and there are important technical decisions to be made. We need people who can jump in , help us figure out the architecture and design, and get started with a MVP. Just to set expectations, they wrote a few scripts in Python using Arcpy is not the type of experience we are looking for.
