Job Description
Role & responsibilities
Facility Design and Construction:
- Collaborate with architects and engineering teams to design pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, building structures including cleanrooms, utilities.
- Prepare detailed engineering plans and specifications for construction projects.
- Oversee construction contractors and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Conduct site inspections and quality control checks during construction.
Infrastructure Maintenance and Upgrades:
- Identify opportunities for infrastructure upgrades to improve efficiency, safety, and compliance.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations related to wastewater and storm water management.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure that all civil engineering projects and infrastructure maintenance activities adhere to pharmaceutical industry regulations and quality standards, including GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
- Work closely with regulatory affairs teams to obtain necessary approvals and certifications.
Budget Management:
- Develop and manage project budgets, including cost estimates and forecasts.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and compliance standards.
Safety and Environmental Compliance:
- Implement safety protocols for civil engineering activities and ensure compliance with occupational safety regulations.
- Manage environmental compliance related to civil projects and infrastructure maintenance.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including plans, specifications, progress reports, and compliance records.
- Prepare regular reports on project status and budget performance for management.
Preferred candidate profile
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is required. Master's degree is a plus.
- Experience of 5+ years as a Civil Engineer in a pharmaceutical manufacturing or similar regulated environment.
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction practices, and pharmaceutical manufacturing facility requirements.
