Job Description
We are looking for a skilled Database Engineer with strong experience in SQL Server, cloud data integration, and reporting tools. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing efficient and scalable database structures, developing optimized SQL scripts, managing cloud-based data systems such as AWS Glue, Data Lake, and HealthLake, and enabling data insights through tools like Power BI, Amazon QuickSight, or Tableau.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and implement normalized and scalable database schemas using ER modeling techniques.
2. Develop and maintain stored procedures, triggers, views, and advanced SQL queries (joins, subqueries, indexing).
3. Perform database backup, restore, and recovery operations.
4. Analyze and optimize SQL performance through indexing, execution plans, and query refactoring.
5. Support and execute cloud migration and data integration projects using platforms like AWS and Azure.
6. Design, build, and maintain data lakes, HealthLake, and AWS Glue ETL pipelines.
7. Create interactive dashboards and business intelligence reports using Power BI, Amazon QuickSight, or Tableau.
8. Work collaboratively across teams using project management tools such as JIRA, Azure Boards, ClickUp, or Trello.
Required Skills:
1. Strong experience with SQL Server or PostgreSQL and T-SQL programming.
2. Expertise in ER modeling and relational database design principles.
3. Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, including joins, subqueries, and indexing for performance optimization.
4. Hands-on experience with modern ETL and data integration platforms such as Airbyte, Apache Airflow, Azure Data Factory (ADF), and AWS Glue.
5. Experience working with Data Lakes and/or HealthLake environments.
6. Familiarity with BI/reporting tools: Power BI, Amazon QuickSight, or Tableau.
7. Experience in database maintenance, backup/restore, and high availability strategies.
8. Comfortable with task tracking and collaboration tools like JIRA, Azure Boards, ClickUp, or Trello.
