Role & responsibilities
- Daily interaction with internal and external clients to resolve problems ranging from simple to complex network, protocol, interfacing and data issues
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (including mechanical, electrical, and firmware engineers) to define system requirements and specifications that bridge electronic and mechanical elements
- Perform hardware-software integration, troubleshoot issues related to signal integrity, component compatibility, and mechanical-electronic interfaces
- Develop firmware for microcontrollers and other embedded systems, ensuring seamless interaction with sensors, actuators, and electro- mechanical components
- Support Electrical Technicians with builds, commissioning, calibration, and fault resolution.
Preferred candidate profile
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- Good understanding of electronic hardware and interfacing (RS232, RS485, microprocessors etc)
- Experience of working with communication protocols such as CAN, Ethernet, MODBUS, Serial Communication
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, and assembly language, focused on embedded control and real-time responsiveness would be an advantage
- Experience with LAbVIEW, MATLAB/Simulink (e.g. for data analysis and simulation) would be an advantage
- Knowledge of electronic systems and working with PCBs and electronic component
- Strong understanding of embedded systems architecture and design principles, with a keen awareness of how electronics integrate into mechanical systems
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, datasheets, and mechanical drawings to ensure cohesive electro-mechanical functionality
