Job Description

Senior Software Engineer ROR role for a Leading Product Based Company.

          Job Scope and Accountabilities:

• Develop and debug Ruby-on-Rails, including Active Record Models, with experience in REST Client as a plus.
• Possess an understanding of threads, thread concurrency, and GIL-less implementations of Ruby (e.g. JRuby, Rubinius) as an advantage.
• Utilize experience with SQL queries and relational data models, with PostgreSQL experience as a plus.
• Apply experience in parsing and manipulating JSON payloads.
• Work with RESTful and SOAP APIs; with experience in GraphQL as an advantage.
• Demonstrate familiarity with reading API documentation for both RESTful and SOAP APIs.
• Utilize experience with Ubuntu Linux and SSH for remote access.
• Apply Git for version control purposes.
• Possess a thorough understanding of the Extract/Transform/Load (ETL) concept.
• Exhibit the ability to perform effectively under the pressure of tight timelines, prioritize incoming requests, and adapt to shifting priorities.
• Communicate effectively regarding ambiguous development requirements and be comfortable with articulating what is or is not possible.
• Collaborate with both internal and external partners to translate customers' business requirements into workable solutions, with client as an integral part of the end-to-end workstream.
• Design and implement API integrations between client and other solutions, such as BI, ERP, CRM, DAM, ITSM solutions, etc.

Experience Requirements:

• 5+ years of professional experience in a customer facing environment, ideally with organizations adopting new software solutions and technologies.
• 5-7 years Programming experience in Ruby
• Proven experience in presentation skills to all levels of an organization, with the ability to present complex ideas in an engaging way, or dive into the technical detail as needed.
• Project management experience, working with any known methodology and more importantly, being able to scope, manage and deliver on a plan no matter how simple or complex

Desired Skills:

• Bachelors degree in computer science/Math or Engineering
• Excellence in foreign languages
• Python programming
