Job Description
Role & responsibilities
- Should have experience of PostgreSQL installation and configuration on Linux as well as Windows platforms.
- Experience in managing databases on Cloud platforms AWS and Azure
- Responsible for working with a team of database administrators who will work to deploy, support and continuously improve mission-critical database systems and their operations.
- Should be self-motivated and passionate about cloud infrastructure and automation within the database context.
- Should be experienced in handling stringent SLA in database management. Good knowledge of database designing and data normalization.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills Certification in RDBMS.
- Good knowledge on security management on database servers
- Ability to manage import/export/restoration of physical and logical backup
- Good knowledge on DB upgrade including minor/major version
- Good knowledge on creation of FDW and troubleshooting
- Should know the client tools like pg_admin, workbench, SQL-Shell, putty
- Managing user/privileges/roles access for database servers
- Database maintenance activities like vacuum, reindex
Extra points related AWS:
- Good understanding of AWS services like DMS, S3, VPC, KMS, Redshift
- Migration of RDS and DynamoDB from one to another AWS account.
- Basic knowledge on MariaDB database platform
- Ability to migrate RDS database from MySQL to MariaDB
Preferred candidate profile
- 5-7 years of experience in mission critical database management.
- Good exposure to Cloud technology / platforms and databases like PostgreSQL and MySQL
- Working with NoSQL (MongoDB, DynamoDB, Document DB, etc.) database platforms will be add-on
- Automate DBA tasks, perform regular health checks and performance tuning
- Perform database enhancement and modification as per the requirements.
- Resolve any database issues in an accurate and timely fashion.
- Monitor databases regularly to check for any errors
- Experience in AWS cloud platform
- Good Team player
- Good time-management skills
