Job Description
Job Responsibilities:
- Operate drones for the collection of high-quality geospatial data, including aerial imagery, LiDAR data, and other remote sensing information.
- Plan and execute drone flight missions for GIS projects, ensuring compliance with aviation regulations and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with drone operation manager and GIS teams to define flight parameters, mission objectives, and data collection requirements.
- Ensure the accurate and timely processing of data collected from drone flights for integration into GIS production workflows.
- Maintain and troubleshoot drone equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety during operations.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest drone technology, software, and industry standards to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of GIS production tasks.
- Prepare and present reports on flight missions, data collected, and any issues encountered during operations.
- Assist with post-processing and analysis of data collected during flights, ensuring data accuracy and quality for GIS applications.
Required skills:
- Proficient in operating drones for geospatial data collection, including knowledge of UAV flight planning software.
- Solid understanding of surveying and geomatics fundamentals.
- Team oriented and self-directed
- Knowledge of GNSS survey.
- Knowledge in Ground control point (GCP) collection using advanced survey techniques would be considered valuable.
- Hindi language proficiency, ability to read & write
Preferred skills
- VTOL mapping drone experience would be considered valuable
- Familiarity with post-processing software for data analysis, such as Pix4D, Drone Deploy, or similar tools.
- Knowledge of UAV regulations and airspace management.
- Experience with fieldwork and data collection in challenging environments.
- Good English communication
