Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Kafka Cluster Management:
Design, deploy, and maintain Kafka clusters, ensuring high availability, fault tolerance, and optimal performance. - Event-Driven Application Development:
Develop and optimize event-driven applications using Kafka Streams and KSQL, integrating with Red Hat AMQ Streams and Quarkus. - Data Integration:
Implement and manage data pipelines using Kafka Connect, integrating with various data sources and sinks. - Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
Utilize Kafka Control Center and other monitoring tools to ensure system health, performance, and reliability. - Collaboration:
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including DevOps, data engineers, and application developers, to design and implement data solutions. - Documentation and Best Practices:
Maintain comprehensive documentation and adhere to best practices in Kafka architecture and development.
Required Skills & Experience
- Educational Background:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. - Professional Experience:
35 years of hands-on experience with Apache Kafka/ Red Hat AMQ or any other Kaffka in a production environment. - Technical Proficiency:
- Strong understanding of Kafka architecture, including brokers, topics, partitions, and replicas.
- Experience with Kafka security, including SSL, SASL, and ACLs.
- Proficiency in Java, Scala, or Python.
- Familiarity with Kafka Streams, KSQL, and Kafka Connect.
- Experience with containerization technologies, particularly Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Certifications (Preferred):
- Red Hat Certified Specialist in Event-Driven Development with Kafka (RHCS-EDK)
