Job Description

Job Title: Telecommunications Specialist

Job Summary: The Telecommunications Specialist is responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient communication operations within the organization. This role involves managing, maintaining, and optimizing telecommunication systems to enhance connectivity and support business needs.

Responsibilities:

  1. Telecommunication Systems Management:

    • Install, configure, and maintain telecommunication systems, including phone lines, PBX systems, VoIP, and related hardware and software.
    • Monitor and troubleshoot telecommunications equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  2. Network Infrastructure:

    • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of telecommunications network infrastructure.
    • Manage network connectivity, ensuring reliability, security, and compliance with industry standards.
  3. User Support:

    • Provide technical support to end-users, addressing telecommunications-related inquiries, issues, and requests.
    • Conduct training sessions to educate staff on using telecommunication systems effectively.
  4. Vendor Management:

    • Collaborate with telecommunications vendors to negotiate contracts, manage service level agreements, and coordinate equipment procurement.
  5. Telecommunication Policies and Procedures:

    • Develop and enforce telecommunications policies and procedures to ensure compliance with organizational guidelines and industry regulations.
  6. Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate documentation of telecommunications systems, configurations, and changes.
    • Generate regular reports on telecommunications usage, performance, and costs for management review.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in telecommunications, information technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in telecommunications or network management.
  • Proficient knowledge of telecommunication systems, protocols, and technologies.
  • Strong understanding of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to telecommunications systems.
