Job Description

Manager of the Project Management Office (PMO) plays a critical role in driving project and program management initiatives across the organization. The primary responsibility is to establish and manage project management processes, collaborate with business partners to ensure strategic alignment, and optimize resource utilization. The role also includes overseeing program and portfolio management, managing financial data, and ensuring the successful execution of projects while meeting deadlines, budgets, and quality standards.
The Manager will lead by example, mentor junior team members, and drive continuous improvements to elevate the organization s project management capabilities. This individual will also ensure that the appropriate resources are allocated to the right projects and help the company grow by managing internal and external stakeholder relationships effectively.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Oversee program and portfolio management to ensure alignment with the organizations strategic goals.
  • Optimize resource allocation and utilization, ensuring that resources are allocated to the right projects in accordance with their skills, capabilities, and experience.
  • Drive and program manage initiatives within respective departments to achieve targeted outcomes and organizational goals.
  • Driving initiatives independently ensuring compliance and governance to drive the success of the initiative
  • Mentor, coach, and transfer project management knowledge and expertise to team members and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with business partners to establish and manage a process governance structure that supports organizational efficiency.
  • Use formal project management processes, tools, and systems to manage resources, tasks, risks, and changes.
  • Monitor and report employee utilization and billability, forecasting upcoming staffing needs.
  • Analyze financial data (e.g., budget, forecast, actuals, margins) and provide relevant insights to leadership for informed decision-making.
  • Ensure timely raising of invoices to external stakeholders and keep track of receivables.
  • Manage the signing and updating of required legal documentation (e.g., SOWs and MSAs) to ensure compliance.
  • Coordinate and interact with all levels of stakeholders, ensuring smooth project execution and resolution of issues.
  • Stakeholder management across senior stakeholders in the organization to drive the overall outcomes of the service line
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying areas for improvement in project management processes and methodologies.

  • Strong leadership skills with proven problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Critical thinking, analytical, and forecasting skills to anticipate issues and create solutions.
  • Ability to work with diverse teams across departments and manage resources effectively.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).
  • Ability to manage project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of an organization.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor s or Master s degree (or equivalent) in a related field.
  • 6-8 years of relevant work experience in project management or a similar PMO-related role.
  • Experience in managing cross-departmental programs and projects.
  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is a plus.
