 R&D Senior Member of Technical Staff, Product Test

Job Description

This position will involve close collaboration with other developers, QA testers, product manager and end-users. It may also involve mentoring junior team members.

As a senior member, the developer is expected to take ownership, be self-driven, be innovative and deliver a high-quality product in a timely manner.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with development team and stakeholders to design, test, and support various process simulation models as well as GUI and infrastructure features using AVEVAs agile development process.
  • Follow testing standards and best practices to develop secure and high quality (First Time Right) software.
  • Work with the developers and stakeholders to ensure that the software meets the requirements, is user friendly, and is well tested.
  • Create necessary user documentation.
  • Highlight and champion product as well as process improvements.
Primary Skills
  • Background in Chemical Engineering & knowledge in the fields of process technology, simulation, and technical computing.
  • Experience and proven track record in Oil and Gas business with a profound understanding of the Upstream/Midstream/Downstream business.
  • Excellent knowledge and skills in using commercial simulation tools (e.g., AVEVA Dynamic Simulation (DYNSIM), HYSYS, PROII, UniSim, Aspen Plus) for dynamic and steady state simulations.
  • Experience of individual stages of the OTS project execution from Kick-off meeting, modelling, MAT, and SAT.
Secondary Skills
  • Sound high level understanding of software architectures and execution methodologies.
  • Knowledge on programming/scripting with mathematical skills to develop chemical process models based on first principles will be nice to have.
  • Highly motivated self-driven Individual, with strong customer orientation.
  • Clearly communicate ideas and findings to management and colleagues
  • Capability of handling several deadline-driven tasks at once, and comfortable with shifting priorities
  • Ability to work well with a team

Qualifications

  • Bachelors in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical, Petroleum or other engineering disciplines with relevant process simulation experience, Masters degree a plus.
  • 6+ Years of Chemical Process/delivering Operator Training Simulators / Technical Services experience
