Job Description
KEY SKILLS - Cisco arista HW deployments
Network Engineer we have a project where we have a lot of devices that are end of life, both Arista and Cisco. We already have the hardware in place, we need resources to help us from start to finish for the hardware replacement. We need 2 or 3 contractors to help (start with 2 contractors), they need to be in India bc most of this work is going to be at night. Then we have a whole team in India that they will work with. They will be reporting to the manager in India, but all the technical work will be with Amjad and his team. We have 200-250 devices that we need to work on, and work with hardware team. Resp for config and set up of new devices, then work with the DC team for replacement validation and testing. Just need someone familiar with CISCO and Arista hardware, just helping the config from A to B. 3 DCs, DC 1 in Alpharetta ,DC 2 in Sioux falls and DC 3 in Roseland. Usually the way we work is we can only work on one DC at a time, if we are taking down a switch in another DC at the same time. The hardware team in the DC will identify the switches, they will work with the team to push the proper configuration, and then schedule the actual cut over. Day to day work is here is the config of the device, here is the new device, do the configuration. Also providing the hardware team with the batching matrix if we are switching one port to another one, and make sure the configuration works back and forth. I have a follow up with the manager on Monday, 4/21 @ 9 EST to discuss profiles and set up IVs. Hard requirements: CISCO and Arista devices
3-5 years of experience
Comfortable with the OS and the command structure
Have to be hands on with Cisco and Arista switches
Some sort of project management experience, because they will be working with dif teams, so we will teach them how our change management works, but Amjads team will handle the scheduling and the communication
Length of contract: 6 months with chance to extend for another 6 months
