The Role:
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan and execute comprehensive on-site vibration surveys on large-scale industrial conveyor systems.
2. Select, configure, and correctly install vibration sensors (primarily accelerometers) and portable data acquisition equipment onto conveyor structures and critical components (idlers, bearings, frames, etc.).
3. Acquire high-quality vibration data, including time waveforms and FFT spectrum, ensuring optimal measurement parameters.
4. Perform detailed analysis of collected vibration data using established industry techniques to accurately identify specific mechanical faults (e.g., bearing defects, imbalance, misalignment, looseness, structural resonance) and assess their severity.
5. Systematically compare and correlate your independent findings with the outputs and metrics generated by our fibre optic DAS system.
6. Investigate and troubleshoot any discrepancies observed between traditional vibration measurements and DAS system detections, determining potential root causes (considering factors like signal transmission paths, background noise, sensor limitations, and structural dynamics).
7. Prepare clear, concise, and detailed technical reports documenting measurement setups, data, analysis, findings, correlations, and identified discrepancies.
8. Provide practical, data-driven recommendations to our global engineering team on potential adjustments to DAS system parameters, data processing algorithms, or fault interpretation methodologies based on your field validation results.
9. Collaborate effectively with our support engineers, software developers, and local project teams.
10. Strictly comply with all site-specific HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) regulations and company safety protocols.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
1. Bachelor's Degree (B.E./B.Tech) or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a closely related technical discipline.
2. Proven, significant hands-on experience as a Vibration Analyst or Condition Monitoring Specialist within heavy industrial environments in India (e.g., Mining, Thermal Power Plants, Cement, Steel, Ports, Manufacturing).
3. Demonstrable expertise in the practical application of portable vibration analysers/data collectors, accelerometers (mounting techniques are critical), and associated analysis software.
4. Strong theoretical foundation and practical application knowledge of vibration analysis principles, including FFT interpretation, time waveform analysis, envelope analysis, and diagnosing faults in rotating machinery (especially bearings, shafts, couplings) and associated structures.
5. Experience working directly on large rotating machinery; specific experience with conveyor systems is highly desirable.
6. Solid understanding of signal processing concepts relevant to vibration (sampling, aliasing, windowing, averaging, FFT parameters).
7. Excellent analytical, logical reasoning, and problem-solving skills, with a methodical approach to troubleshooting.
8. Proficiency in preparing detailed technical reports and effectively communicating complex findings.
9. Excellent command of English (both written and verbal).
10. Must be willing and physically able to travel across India and work effectively in demanding industrial site conditions.
Desirable Qualifications:
1. Certified Vibration Analyst (like ISO 18436-2 Category II, III, or IV). Category III or IV certification is strongly preferred.
2. Experience with reliability engineering practices or formal Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methodologies.
3. Experience with necessary software for vibration analysis.
5. Candidates who can join immediately are preferable
6. Based on experience and skills the salary is negotiable.
