Job Description

Job Summary:

Rishabh Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Lead Instrumentation and Control (I&C) Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary engineering team. The ideal candidate will oversee the design, specification, procurement, and implementation of instrumentation and control systems for a range of industrial and energy projects, ensuring alignment with project requirements, codes, and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage I&C engineering activities for FEED, detailed design, and EPC projects.
  • Develop I&C engineering deliverables: instrument index, datasheets, I/O lists, control system architecture, loop diagrams, hook-ups, and cable schedules.
  • Review and approve vendor documents for instruments, control systems, and analyzers.
  • Coordinate with disciplines such as Process, Electrical, Mechanical, and Civil to ensure alignment and integration of systems.
  • Develop and review control philosophies, cause & effect diagrams, logic diagrams, and control narratives.
  • Provide technical input during HAZOP/HAZID, SIL, and other safety reviews.
  • Interface with clients, vendors, and subcontractors to clarify technical issues and ensure quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with international standards (ISA, IEC, NEC, API, etc.) and project specifications.
  • Support procurement activities, including technical bid evaluation and vendor selection.
  • Supervise and mentor junior engineers and designers, ensuring quality and timely delivery.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • In-depth knowledge of field instrumentation, control systems (DCS/PLC/SCADA), and process control strategies.
  • Proficiency in engineering tools such as SPI (Intools), AutoCAD, and Excel-based tools for I&C.
  • Strong understanding of international codes and standards (ISA, IEC, ATEX, API, NEC).
  • Experience with control systems from major vendors (Emerson, Honeywell, Siemens, ABB, etc.)
  • Expertise in loop checking, commissioning, and FAT/SAT activities.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills.
  • Effective communication and coordination skills across multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering.
  • 10+ years of I&C engineering experience, with at least 3+ years in a lead role.
  • Experience in EPC/EPCM projects in oil & gas, petrochemical, power, or related industries.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with Indian and international client specifications (e.g., ONGC, ADNOC, Shell).
  • Knowledge of digital transformation tools like SmartPlant Instrumentation and Aveva Engineering.
  • Experience in global delivery model/engineering center setup.
