Job Description
Role & responsibilities
- Assist relevant parties in the decommission/replacement of data centre facilities and update relevant inventories accordingly.
- Carry out periodic checks of data centre hardware and facility systems according to SSL.
- Create an appropriate feedback mechanism to gather feedback about the solution and support provided.
- Escalate any issue to SSL
- Formulate action plan in accordance to resolve the problem.
- Identify problems in equipment, system and/or software using appropriate tools.
- Maintain a hardware inventory which describes each piece of data centre hardware and equipment owned by SSL
- Perform archive reports and logs of physical access controls / Camera recording and environmental controls for compliance and knowledge retention purposes.
- Perform the secure storage of data centre hardware, user documentations and technical manuals according to IT policies.
- Utilise proactive alerting and reporting systems/tools on abnormal environmental changes.
- Datacentre Hand & feet support (OS Installation, Physical Device and asset Management, Hardware call logging, Power Management etc..).
- Daily Preventive health check and monitoring of physical hardware to run all critical assets.
- Monitor operational power utilization and RACK utilization and alerting on threshold breach
- Managing and guide to OEM for mounting / maintenance Server / Network devices.
- Creation of gate pass for asset Inward/Outward.
- Maintaining and creation of SOP of various critical hardware / devices.
- Carrying out NSDL & CDSL Backup process.
- Supporting User access BAU activities operation on Active Directory & Email VPN
- Manage & maintain cabling dressing of datacentre
- Participate & maintain physical compliance of datacentre as per our policy & manage DC Audit.
