Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and creative UI/UX Developer with 3 years of experience to join our product team in the healthcare sector. You will play a crucial role in designing and developing intuitive, accessible, and patient-centered digital experiences that support our mission to improve health outcomes. The ideal candidate has a strong grasp of design systems, front-end development, and a passion for solving complex problems through user-centered design.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with clinicians, product managers, developers, and end users to understand healthcare workflows and translate them into functional interfaces.
- Design intuitive user experiences for both patient-facing and internal clinical tools such as EHR systems, appointment portals, and remote health monitoring apps.
- Build responsive front-end interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups using Figma, Adobe XD, or similar tools.
- Conduct user research, usability testing, and data analysis to validate and iterate on designs.
- Ensure interfaces comply with healthcare-specific regulatory standards, including HIPAA and accessibility guidelines (e.g., WCAG 2.1).
- Collaborate with backend developers to integrate APIs and ensure smooth data flow between UI and backend systems.
- Maintain a design system and reusable components library tailored to healthcare user needs.
- Stay updated with the latest trends in healthcare technology, UI/UX practices, and front-end development.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or related field.
- Certifications in UI/UX Design or Front-end Development are a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in UI/UX development, preferably in the healthcare or HealthTech industry.
- Demonstrated experience designing for both mobile and web applications.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive design principles.
- Hands-on experience with front-end frameworks like React.js, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Familiarity with healthcare platforms (e.g., EMR/EHR systems) is a strong advantage.
- Experience with REST APIs and data binding with front-end components.
- Version control using Git.
Design Tools:
- Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, InVision, or similar.
- Understanding of interaction design, typography, and visual hierarchy.
Healthcare-Specific Knowledge:
- Understanding of HIPAA compliance and data privacy principles.
- Awareness of usability challenges in healthcare applications (e.g., older users, clinicians under time pressure).
- Knowledge of healthcare terminologies and patient journey mapping is an added advantage.
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, especially with cross-functional healthcare teams.
- Empathy for users, especially patients and clinicians.
- Ability to balance design creativity with regulatory and functional constraints.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and adaptability.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working on digital health tools like telemedicine, wearable integrations, or patient engagement platforms.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Experience with motion design and microinteractions is a plus.
