Job Description
We are seeking a WordPress Developer responsible for both back-end and front-end development, including creating WordPress themes and plugins. This position requires a combination of programming skills (namely PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript) and aesthetics (understanding element arrangements on the screen, the color and font choices, and so on). The candidate should have a strong understanding of industry trends and content management systems. Experience with responsive and adaptive design is strongly preferred. Also, an understanding of the entire web development process, including design, development, and deployment is preferred.
Key Responsibilities - Design, implement, and maintain scalable and efficient backend solutions using WordPress.
- Create visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks.
- Work alongside UX/UI designers to translate design into a functional and engaging user experience.
- Code responsive and user-friendly websites based on client specifications or approved graphic design files.
- Maintain high code quality adhering to community standards for accessibility and semantic HTML5 standards.
- Optimize website templates for SEO strategies and techniques.
- Create a consistent user experience across various platforms and devices through testing.
- Code and test websites to meet Google s PageSpeed Insights, Page Experience, and Core Web Vitals standards.
- Extend WordPress functionality through custom post types, plugins, or REST API connections.
- Oversee technical aspects of the CMS and server-side configurations for optimal performance.
- Regularly test and implement updates for WordPress core, plugins, or themes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve website issues related to themes, plugins, or hosting environments.
- Research, learn, and implement the latest WordPress software updates.
- Provide support and training for managing and updating the WordPress CMS.
- Document code, solutions, and methodologies for future reference.
- Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of development experience with WordPress.
- Experience working with a variety of WordPress plugins.
- Proficiency in custom WordPress themes and plugin development.
- Experience with PHP development and frameworks.
- Working knowledge of SQL, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Familiarity with versioning tools like GitHub.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Desire to learn and take on new challenges.
- Familiarity with ITSM tools (ServiceNow).
- Understanding of agile development tools and processes.
