Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join our Guidewire Professional Services Team, which combines expertise in insurance with software implementation skills to develop new solutions common across customers adopting Guidewire Cloud Platform.
As a Senior Business Analyst, you will collaborate with the wider Guidewire ecosystem to drive process improvements and create future-proof solutions aligned with industry trends. In this key role, you will be a trusted advisor, shaping business models while mentoring and guiding internal teams to develop solutions targeted to AMER commercial lines customers who write business on bureau-based lines of business. Your ability to interpret bureau circulars and transform them to create market-ready, updatable solutions. Key Responsibilities
  • Requirements: Provide continuous requirements refinement as the conduit for commercial lines services solutions.
  • Requirements: Conduct US bureau circular analysis for the development, implementation, update, interpretation, and maintenance of custom solutions
  • Analysis: Deliver analysis, problem resolution and provide recommendations for process improvement.
  • Analysis: Enable US commercial lines content adoption field implementations on the USBC content application
  • Consultant: Responsible for working with key customer stakeholders as needed to support field teams
  • Business Impact: Develop business cases, conduct gap analysis, and measure the business impact of implemented solutions, ensuring the highest value for customers.
  • Communication: Communicate issues clearly and credibly with widely varied audiences and help to derive solutions.
  • Leadership: Mentor junior team members, sets standards for best practices in requirements gathering, documentation, and process design.
Key Skills
  • Languages: Fluent business-level English is essential.
  • US Commercial Lines: Strong background and consultation experience in US bureau commercial insurance related to underwriting, process reengineering, and operations.
  • Bureau Content: Deep experience with interpreting US Bureau circulars to extract the appropriate filings for rates, rules, and forms
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth understanding of Guidewire platforms, particularly in the context of US Bureau Content updates and SBT forms mapping
  • Software Implementation: Proven track record of contributing to large-scale software implementation projects, with expertise in translating complex business requirements into detailed functional specifications.
  • Track leadership: Strong experience in leading a functional delivery track, including managing related delivery timelines, risk mitigation, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Problem Solving & Strategic Thinking: Excellent critical thinking skills with the ability to navigate and solve complex problems and business challenges.
  • Business Value Expertise: Experience in developing business cases, conducting gap analysis, and measuring the business impact of Services solutions.
  • Agile Leadership: Expertise in adapting Agile methodologies to meet the needs of large, complex projects and guiding colleagues through Agile frameworks.
  • Communication and Collaboration : Exceptional ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including executives, project managers, and technical teams. Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and external partners to ensure the successful rollout and adaptation of services.
Preferred Skills
  • Languages: Additional language skills are highly valued for working in a global team.
  • Domain Expertise: Additional expertise in multi-faceted insurance processes, including underwriting, claims, and policy administration. Proven ability to work with insurance carriers and implementation partners. Ability to manage the development, implementation, update, interpretation, and maintenance of US bureau content.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor s Degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
  • 4-10 years of experience in US commercial insurance or technology-related roles.
  • In-depth understanding of Guidewire platforms/ products.
  • Deep knowledge of the insurance value chain, particularly in front-office and mid-office processes.
  • Deep knowledge of US Bureau content related to commercial lines and interpretation of related circulars.
  • Deep knowledge of the insurance regulatory environment and the operational needs of carriers.
  • Expertise in leading implementation project tracks and providing innovative, customer-centric solutions.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira and Confluence.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work across technical and business teams.
  • Ability to work from Guidewire s Bangalore office at least 2 days per week.
