Experienced Software Engineer- Test Verification @ Boeing

Position Overview:

Boeing India Engineering & Technology Center (BIETC) is based in Bangalore, India and is engaged in the development of advanced aerospace and aviation technologies and software products.

We are seeking a highly skilled Experienced Software Engineer- Test Verification to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software testing and verification, with a focus on automation and compliance with DO-178C standards. This role requires proficiency in programming, particularly in Python and Linux Shell scripting, as well as a solid understanding of various communication protocols.

This role will be based out of Bangalore, India.

Position Responsibilities:

• Develop automated/manual Test scenarios to test High Level and Low-Level Software requirements
• Should be able to create test strategy and specification documents, write functional and nonfunctional test cases based on the product requirements.
• Estimate the software testing efforts.
• Participate in defining test strategy and plan.
• Develop Software integration test Scripts to verify the correct implementation of High Level
• Develop end-to-end test environment, executes test cases and reports test results in the test management tool.
• Ability to understand automation framework, write and execute test scripts.
• Establish traceability from SW Requirement and Test.
• Perform peer review on test cases, test procedure.
• Support SRR (Systems Requirements Review), PDR (Preliminary Design Reviews), CDR (Critical Design Reviews), TRR (Test Readiness Review) and Formal Qualification.
• Support project management by providing periodic status and required metrics data.
• Be a good team player in the agile team. Candidate should possess excellent communications skills to participate in Requirement/Design/Code/Test reviews, have a thorough understanding of version
• control and software quality attributes, such as testability, portability and maintainability, and enjoy a self-driven and collaborative development approach.
• Be dynamic and support management, lead to ensure successful product deliveries.
• Identify, communicate and mitigate the Risk, issues and Opportunities in a timely manner.
• Participate in SOI (Stage of Involvement) audits.

Basic Qualification:

• A Bachelors degree or higher is required as a BASIC QUALIFICATION
• 2+ years of experience in Python scripting
• 5+ years of experience in automated/functional and end-to-end testing.
• Good understanding of Linux environment
• Good Understanding of C++ and OOPS concept
• Good understanding of DO-178C process.
• Good to have understanding Java scripting.
• 3+ years of experience working in Agile development model
• Exposure to software test automation framework and design.
• Experience in Software integration testing in integration Lab Environment.
• Experience in Requirement management tools like DOORS.
• Experience in usage of Configuration management tools like JIRA/Git/TFS/Clear Quest.
• Exposure to test automation tools like Selenium, Test Complete will be an added advantage.
• Systems Thinking - Ability to understand the big picture and the inter-relationships between components of systems and plans and anticipate future events.
• Analytical Skills - Skill and ability to: collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience ) :

• Develop and maintain relationships / partnerships with customers, team members, peers, and partners to develop collaborative plans and complete projects.
• Demonstrate strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Be fluent in written and spoken English, and have high degree of proficiency with MS Office tools to prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, proposals, and Statements of Work.
• Experience in Aerospace/Avionics is a plus.

Typical Education & Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 8 years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master + 7 years' related work experience.)
