Senior SQL Developer / DBA
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Senior SQL Developer / DBA to join us. This role requires deep expertise in complex SQL development, query optimization, and database performance tuning. You will play a key role in managing and enhancing our data infrastructure, working with modern database technologies and cloud platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- 4-8 years experience on design, develop, and optimize complex SQL queries and other database components.
- 3+ years experience on perform database performance tuning and optimization to ensure high availability and efficiency.
- Design and develop data pipelines using tools like Apache Airflow for efficient ETL processing.
- Work on database infrastructure, including installation, configuration, and maintenance of MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and SingleStore.
- Collaborate with application developers to optimize SQL queries and ensure data integrity.
- Implement monitoring tools, automation scripts, and database security best practices.
- Manage large-scale data storage solutions and support data-intensive applications.
- Work with big data technologies such as Snowflake, Kafka, Cassandra, and Spark.
- Deploy and manage databases in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Support 24x7 production environments in a rotating shift schedule.
Nice to Have:
- Experience in Ops/DevOps engineering with a software development mindset.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools.
Technology Stack:
Must Have:
- 4-7 years of experience in DBA & SQL tuning with expertise in at least one of MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL or SingleStore.
- Experience in database infrastructure setup, monitoring tools, and automation.
- Strong analytical skills and expertise in systematic problem-solving.
- Proven development skills in Python, Java, or Go for backend and automation tasks.
- Hands-on experience with Linux operating systems.
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Big data experience is a plus, with exposure to Snowflake, Kafka, Cassandra, or Spark.
- Cloud expertise in databases, compute, storage, and networking (AWS preferred: EC2, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, Kubernetes).
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
