Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager with expertise in US tax return preparation, specifically focusing on Form 1065 (Partnership Return) or Form 1120 (Corporate Return). As a Manager Tax , you will be responsible for preparing, overseeing the tax return process, reviewing work prepared by junior associates, and providing guidance to ensure accuracy and compliance. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of tax regulations, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to handle complex tax issues.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise a team of tax associates in the preparation and review of US tax returns, specifically Form 1065 or Form 1120.
- Conduct detailed reviews of tax workpapers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal and state tax laws and regulations.
- Analyze complex financial data, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to accurately report taxable income and deductions.
- Research and provide guidance on complex tax issues, ensuring adherence to applicable tax laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to gather relevant financial information and supporting documents required for tax return preparation.
- Assist in tax planning strategies and identify potential tax-saving opportunities for clients.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations, communicating relevant updates and implications to team members and clients.
- Manage the preparation and filing of tax extensions, estimated tax payments, and other related tax documents as required.
- Address tax notices and inquiries from tax authorities, providing timely and accurate responses and resolutions.
- Maintain accurate and organized tax files and documentation for audit purposes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. CPA/EA certification is preferred.
- 6-15 years of experience in US tax return preparation, with a focus on Form 1065 or Form 1120.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory abilities, with the capacity to effectively mentor and develop junior team members.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and team members.
- Experience in tax planning and consulting is highly desirable.
