Job Description

CaptionCall is a service that provides real-time captioned telephone calls for individuals with hearing loss. Job roles at CaptionCall often involve helping users communicate more effectively by captioning conversations accurately and quickly. Below are the common job roles and their responsibilities:

1. Communications Assistant (CA) / Captioning Agent

Responsibilities:

  • Provide real-time captions for telephone conversations using voice recognition technology.
  • Maintain speed and accuracy while captioning.
  • Ensure confidentiality of customer information.
  • Work in a call center environment, often wearing a headset.
  • Meet quality and performance standards set by the company.

2. Customer Service Representative

Responsibilities:

  • Assist customers with questions about CaptionCall services and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot basic technical issues.
  • Provide information on eligibility and assist with account setup.
  • Deliver high-quality customer service in person or over the phone.

3. Installer/Trainer

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and install CaptionCall phones at users homes.
  • Train customers on how to use the phone and captioning features.
  • Ensure the equipment works correctly and the user is comfortable using it.
  • Provide follow-up support as needed.

4. Outreach Specialist / Outreach Coordinator

Responsibilities:

  • Promote CaptionCall services to audiologists, hearing clinics, and other professionals.
  • Conduct presentations and build relationships with referral sources.
  • Educate potential users about the benefits of captioned telephone services.
  • Coordinate events and represent CaptionCall in the community.

5. Technical Support Specialist

Responsibilities:

  • Provide advanced troubleshooting for CaptionCall phones and apps.
  • Assist with connectivity, software updates, and hardware issues.
  • Work with customers or field staff to resolve technical problems.
