Job Description
Job Title: ETL Developer / Big Data Developer
Location: Bangalore (Hybrid)
Duration: 6 9 Months
Reason for request: Maternity Coverage
YOE: Minimum of 3 years
Team and Role Details
- Role Requirements: The role is for a contractor position, covering maternity leave for six to nine months. The primary skills required are:
- SQL
- Spark
- Scala
- Databricks projects
- ReactJS
Technical Skills and Experience
- ReactJS: Hands-on experience with ReactJS is required for customization of existing applications .
- Scala and Python: The backend is primarily written in Scala, and knowledge of Python is also beneficial .
- Database and ETL: Strong skills in SQL and experience with Databricks projects are essential.
Interview Process
- Rounds: The interview process will consist of two technical rounds and one project manager round, all conducted virtually .
- Screening: Candidates will be rated on a scale of one to ten for their skills in SQL and Spark to ensure they meet the required qualifications .
Additional Information
- Location: The primary location is Bangalore, but there is flexibility to consider candidates from Kochi if necessary .
- Work Model: The role is expected to follow a hybrid model, with the team coming to the office once a week .
- Domain Experience: There is no specific requirement for candidates to have a background in the pharma or healthcare domain .
- Contract Extension: There is a possibility of extending the contract based on business requirements and resource availability .
- Candidate Screening: Detailed screening notes and ratings will be provided to ensure only qualified candidates are considered .

Responsibilities:
- 4-8 years of development experience in object-oriented applications with 2-4 years of experience in Scala.
- In-depth understanding/knowledge of Hadoop & Spark architecture and its components such as HDFS, Job Tracker, Task Tracker, executor cores, and memory parameters.
- Experience in Hadoop development, working experience on Spark, Scala is mandatory, and database exposure is a must.
- Hands-on experience in Spark and Spark Streaming, creating RDDs, and applying operations - Transformation and Actions.
- Experience in code optimization to fine-tune applications.
- Expertise in writing Hadoop/Spark jobs for analyzing data using Spark, Scala, Hive, Kafka, and Python.
- Experienced with streaming workflow operations.
- Experience in developing large-scale distributed applications and developing solutions to analyze large data sets efficiently.
- Integration with Hadoop/HDFS, Real-Time Systems, Data Warehouses, and Analytics solutions. Experience in Data Warehousing and ETL processes.
- Strong database, SQL, ETL, and data analysis skills.
