Job Description
- Product Development & Innovation
- Conceptualize and design new thermoplastic-based products, industrial solutions, and rotomolded innovations in line with market needs.
- Develop detailed 3D models, CAD designs, and technical drawings for manufacturing.
- Improve existing product lines by incorporating enhanced ergonomics, material efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Conduct benchmarking and competitive analysis to identify product differentiation opportunities.
- Design for Manufacturing (DFM) & Prototyping
- Collaborate with the engineering and production teams to ensure designs meet manufacturing feasibility, structural integrity, and cost constraints.
- Work with rotomolding, injection molding, extrusion, and thermoforming processes to optimize design efficiency.
- Develop prototypes using 3D printing, CNC machining, and material testing before final production.
- Material Selection & Sustainability
- Research and recommend advanced thermoplastic materials, composites, and eco-friendly alternatives for product durability and sustainability.
- Optimize material usage to reduce waste and improve product recyclability and environmental impact.
- Work on performance testing and quality analysis of new materials in coordination with R&D.
- Market Research & User-Centric Design
- Conduct customer feedback sessions, usability testing, and surveys to refine product designs.
- Analyze market trends, competitor products, and customer pain points to drive product innovation.
- Develop visual storytelling, mood boards, and sketches to communicate design ideas effectively.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration & Branding
- Work closely with marketing, sales, and business development teams to align product designs with branding and positioning strategies.
- Support the marketing team in creating product brochures, technical datasheets, and 3D renders for promotional content.
- Assist in developing packaging designs that enhance product visibility and protection.
- Compliance & Intellectual Property (IP) Protection
- Ensure product designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Assist in patent filing and intellectual property (IP) protection for innovative product designs.
- Document design processes and technical specifications for future reference.
