Job Title: Technical Superintendent (Backlog Vacancies)

Location: IIT Bombay, Powai, Mumbai

Eligibility Criteria:

Option 1:

• Qualification: B.Tech. / B.E. / M.Sc. or equivalent degree

• Experience: Minimum 1 year of relevant post-qualification experience

OR

Option 2:

• Qualification: Bachelor's degree (non-B.Tech./B.E.) in:

  • Computer Engineering

  • Electronics Engineering

  • Electronics & Telecommunication

  • Computer Science

  • Information Technology

  • Computer Applications

  • Computer Management

• Experience: Minimum 4 years of relevant post-qualification experience

Essential Experience & Skills:

• System administration of Linux, Windows, and MacOS

• Network setup and management

• Administering mail, proxy, DNS, and web services on Linux servers

• Minimum 1 year of Linux system admin and shell scripting

• Strong troubleshooting skills (networking/server)

• Linux-based virtualization experience

Desirable Skills:

• Network configuration, backup, and mirror management

• Automated installations for large-scale deployments

• Experience with video storage and delivery

• Setup and management of HPC clusters

• Data center equipment management

• Managing enterprise-level Windows/Mac environments

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer and maintain Linux/Windows/Mac systems

• Manage LAN and Wi-Fi infrastructure

• Troubleshoot OS and network-related issues

• Administer departmental IT services (mail, proxy, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS)

• Manage network services on virtual machines

• Collaborate with the Institutes Computer Centre for IT support

Compensation:

• Pay Level 6: 35,400 1,12,400 (includes allowances)

• Contract Duration: 3 years (as per institute rules)

• Promotion Opportunity: Pay Level 7 (44,900 1,42,400), based on performance

Age Limit:

• Maximum Age: 32 years as of application closing date
