Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for telecom equipment, focusing on sheet metal, Plastic and die-cast parts.
Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing teams to optimize designs for cost-effective production.
Prototyping & Testing:
Build and test prototypes to validate design concepts, with a focus on sheet metal and die-cast components.
Perform mechanical testing and analysis to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
Address any design issues that arise during the testing phase and implement necessary modifications.
Manufacturing Support:
Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure smooth transition from design to production.
Provide technical support during tooling development and production ramp-up, particularly for sheet metal stamping and die casting processes.
Review and approve tooling designs, ensuring they meet design specifications and quality standards.
Collaboration & Communication:
Collaborate with electrical engineers, product managers, and quality assurance teams to ensure that mechanical designs integrate seamlessly with other components.
Communicate design concepts, progress, and challenges effectively to stakeholders.
Prepare and maintain detailed documentation, including design specifications, BOMs, and technical reports.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities for design improvements, cost reductions, and process optimizations, particularly in the areas of sheet metal and die casting.
Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in mechanical design and telecom equipment.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Experience:
2-5 years of experience in mechanical design, with a focus on telecom equipment.
Strong knowledge of sheet metal design, Plastic, die casting, and related manufacturing processes.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for creating detailed models and drawings.
Experience with tolerance analysis, material selection, and cost optimization.
