Field Technician Computer Hardware @ HSO

Job Description

Job Summary: We are looking for a reliable and technically skilled Field Technician to handle the installation of software and biometric devices, IP and port configuration, and the creation and setup of LAN cables. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working on-site at various client locations and providing hands-on technical support. Key Responsibilities: Install and configure biometric devices (e.g., fingerprint scanners, attendance systems) at client locations. Install and update desktop software and applications as required. Configure IP addresses and port settings for networked devices to ensure connectivity and system integration. Create, test, and install LAN (Ethernet) cables for network setup and expansion. Provide basic technical support to clients on software usage and biometric system functionality. Ensure accurate documentation of installation and configuration processes. Collaborate with the internal support team for troubleshooting and follow-up. Travel regularly to client sites as per schedule or emergency requirements. Required Skills & Qualifications: Diploma or Degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field. Basic knowledge of networking concepts, IP addressing, and ports. Experience or training in biometric device installation and software configuration (preferred). Ability to crimp and test LAN cables using standard tools. Good communication and customer service skills. Willingness to travel frequently and work independently. Preferred Qualifications (Optional): Familiarity with time attendance software or biometric device brands (e.g., ZKTeco, ESSL). Understanding of firewall or port forwarding for networked devices. Basic troubleshooting skills for both hardware and software. Working Conditions: Field-based with frequent travel to client sites. May involve lifting small equipment and working in office or industrial environments.
