Job Description
Position Summary
Sr.QA & Test Automation Engineer is a senior-level technical position, which requires a comprehensive understanding of software quality development and implementation; a thorough understanding of software inspection and testing, verification, and validation; and the ability to implement software development and maintenance processes and methods.
This position has the overall responsibility of the Automation testing success of projects at ALLDATA. The Automation QA Lead will independently prepare and execute tests as well as manage all aspects of the testing effort, including plans, schedule, and tools. This candidate will work closely with various product owners, Customer support teams and Scrum masters at the ALLDATA to ensure that their applications have an appropriate quality and testing coverage. Candidate must have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to help validate the implementation of applications against the functional and technical specifications and assist other QA team members through careful planning and test automation. This role will work with multiple Software Development projects and should be capable of training, mentoring and managing junior-level testers.
Key Responsibilities Participating in design sessions with key business users, gathering and documenting business processes and requirements for the system Manage the development and documentation of test plans and detailed test cases for all products and internal applications. Ensure thorough compliance to the Tracker defect logging, tracking, and resolution system. Review product materials, documentation, collaterals, packaging and release-related materials.
Drives the Test Automation planning, tracking and reporting for assigned project(s). Provide expertise, feedback, and contributions for continued process improvement. Manage guidelines and best practices to bring in QA effectiveness. Ensure standard methodology and procedures are followed
Design and Develop test automation of ALLDATA projects
Oversee and supervise the daily activities of all direct reports, including but not limited to: conducting reviews, performing disciplinary actions, time off approvals, setting priorities and professional goals.
Architect and maintain Automation frameworks & scripts on Windows, Mac, Mobile Web, iOS & Android platforms
Closely work with onshore and offshore project team members
Requirements: A systems thinker, able to move fluidly between high-level abstract thinking and detail-oriented
implementation, open minded to new ideas, approaches, and technologies
A data and fact-driven decision maker, with an ability to make quick decisions under uncertainty when necessary; able to quickly learn new technologies, tools, and organizational structures/strategies
Strong design and development experience with QA, Test automation, BDD and TDD practices
Understanding of current industry standard best practices regarding integration, architecture, tools, and processes
Agile experience in engineering capabilities and an architectural mind-sets.
Strong oral and written communication skills and a knack for explaining your decision-making process to non-engineers
A thorough grasp of IT concepts, business operations, design and development tools, system
architecture and technical standards, shared software concepts and layered solutions and designs
Education and/or Experience
Required skills
Minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in software quality assurance, end to end, functional, and regression testing, etc. At least 5 years of experience in Test Automation across different platforms
(Web/Mobile/Legacy).
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with design, development and maintenance of test automation
tools/frameworks and code of (e.g. Selenium WebDriver, Jenkins, SOAPUI, JIRA, Gherkins, TestNG, JMeter
etc.)
Minimum 3 years of experience with performance testing using JMeter, Blazemeter or Cloud test
Minimum 5 years of QA and Testing experience in an Agile project
Minimum 3 years of experience with JIRA, Zephyr, confluence or any other Agile management tools
Ability to review test deliverables for completeness, quality, and compliance with established standards
Use of 2 or more development languages (e.g. Java, Java-script, C#.Net, VBScript, SQL etc.).
Created comprehensive test automation strategy and plans, as well as recent development and execution of test automation lifecycle deliverables
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of software testing methodology and best practices while maintaining and enforcing quality standards.
Strong organizational skills, including the ability to respond quickly in a fast-paced environment
