Job Description
Role & responsibilities
. System health check and monitor system performance using monitoring tool.
2. Take proactive action to avoid any system related issue.
3. CICS definitions, transactions set up and monitoring using Monitoring tool.
4. Production code deployment using Change Management tool.
5. Monitor and troubleshoot batch job failures.
6. Proactive monitoring of disk space utilization and take necessary action to avoid space failure.
7. FTP alert set up.
8. Nice to have DB2 and MQ Administration skills.
9. Overseeing RACF administration. Maintain accounts to control access to information and application, analyses and resolve problems related to mainframe access control and user administrations.
10. Administrating TSO user IDs and defining user datasets and resources to RACF.
11.Assist in resolving RACF related issues and support in AUDITING of security requirements.
12.Managing user administrations (removing and granting group access or dataset access).
13.Client team discussions about new RACF requirements/enhancement.
14.New account addition/Old account deletion based on client requirement.
9. Support to Application team:
1. Monitor and troubleshoot batch job failures.
2. Assist application team to resolve performance issues.
3. Take the lead in investigating, resolving and providing root cause analysis.
4. Take lead in coordinating with applications team to ensure smooth migration to new versions.
10. Performance monitoring and tuning:
1. Monitor current active and historical threads.
2. Identify potential bottleneck, lock contention in the active or historical threads and troubleshoot them.
3. Check overall Mainframe CPU utilization using SYSVIEW online panels.
