Job Description
- Role: Kubernetes Engineer Experience: 07+ Years Location: Navi Mumbai(Onsite) Key Responsibility:- Deploy, manage, and maintain Kubernetes clusters on VMware Tanzu hosted in Meghdoot Cloud (on-prem). Design and implement Kubernetes workloads by writing and managing YAML manifests for: Deployments, StatefulSets, DaemonSets Services, Ingress (Layer 7 and Layer 4) ConfigMaps, Secrets, PVCs, ServiceAccounts, RBAC, and Network Policies Implement TLS termination and pass-through configurations at the ingress and pod level: Terminate TLS at Ingress or proxy level Configure TLS passthrough for end-to-end encrypted connections to application pods Manage TLS secrets and custom certificates using Kubernetes secrets or cert-manager Integrate and support CI/CD pipelines using GitOps tools (e.g., ArgoCD, Flux) or Jenkins/GitLab for automated deployments. Troubleshoot Kubernetes networking components: CNI plugins (e.g., Calico, Antrea) Service routing, ingress/egress rules DNS, load balancers, and east-west pod communication Configure and enforce RBAC, Pod Security Policies, TLS encryption, and secure access to services. Manage monitoring and logging via Prometheus, Grafana, Fluentd, or equivalent. Support storage integration and dynamic provisioning of persistent volumes. Perform upgrades, patching, cluster scaling, and backup/recovery operations. Collaborate with security, storage, and application teams for secure and optimized deployments. Maintain detailed runbooks and documentation for production workloads. Required skills & Experience 5+ years of experience in DevOps/Infrastructure, with at least 23 years in Kubernetes cluster management. Hands-on with VMware Tanzu Kubernetes Grid, vSphere, and secure on-prem cloud environments. Advanced YAML authoring skills for Kubernetes object definitions and Helm chart customizations. Deep knowledge of TLS termination and passthrough scenarios at Ingress and pod level (Layer 4/Layer 7): Experience with ingress controllers supporting TLS passthrough (e.g., NGINX, HAProxy) Managing Kubernetes secrets for certificate storage and renewal Strong understanding of Kubernetes networking stack, CNIs, and service mesh basics. Linux administration (RHEL/CentOS), scripting (Bash/Python), and Git proficiency. Familiar with GitOps/CD pipelines and secure container lifecycle management. Knowledge of regulated/banking environments, air-gapped deployments, and compliance practices. Preferred Certifications: - Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) Highly Preferred VMware Tanzu Certifications Red Hat / Linux Foundation Certifications (RHCSA, LFCS) Linux Foundation or Red Hat certifications (LFCS, RHCSA),
