Job Description
Seeking a Senior Data Engineer with 7+ years of experience specializing in developing ingestion and ETL Frameworks using Python on AWS. This role will play a key role in architecting scalable ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) libraries that standardize data processing across the organization, with a focus on reliability, performance, and maintainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, design, develop, and implement highly scalable and robust data ingestion and ETL frameworks using Python and leveraging AWS services.
- Expert-level programming skills in Python and extensive experience with advanced libraries (e. g, Polars, Pandas, Boto3, pyarrow, sqlalchemy, PySpark, Dask)
- Should possess deep expertise in leveraging key AWS services like Glue, Lambda, S3, IAM, Lake Formation, Cloud Formation and EC2
- Drive the optimization of data pipelines on AWS for maximum performance, fault tolerance, and scalability, ensuring adherence to enterprise standards.
- Establish comprehensive data quality checks, monitoring systems, alerting mechanisms to guarantee the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of our data assets in the cloud
- Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline issues in a timely manner.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices in data engineering, AWS, and Python Development. Continue to evaluate and enhance our data infrastructure.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
- 7-10 years of total experience, with at least 4+ years hands-on with AWS services.
- Deep experience designing reusable, configurable, and modular software libraries in Python.
- Solid understanding of ETL design patterns, data structures, and data modeling principles.
- Solid understanding of Data Governance, Security, and Compliance best practices.
- Strong testing, logging, and exception-handling skills for production-quality code.
- Knowledge of data lake best practices (partitioning, compaction, performance tuning).
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with a focus on automation and operational excellence.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
