Job Description
Role & responsibilities
- Plan and manage production activities for fabrication of MS, SS, Aluminium, and FRP composite components.
- Review and interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications for metal and composite materials.
- Oversee fabrication processes, including cutting, welding, molding, and assembly for both metallic and composite parts.
- Coordinate with design, quality, and procurement teams to ensure smooth production flow and material availability.
- Monitor welding and bonding techniques, including TIG, MIG, and adhesive bonding for composites.
- Supervise lay-up, curing, and trimming processes specific to FRP composite manufacturing.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, conducting inspections and ensuring dimensional and visual accuracy.
- Optimize production processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and maintain high product quality.
- Maintain documentation such as production reports, inspection logs, and maintenance records.
- Implement and follow lean manufacturing practices and 5S workplace organization.
- Train and guide shop floor personnel, ensuring safe handling of materials and adherence to SOPs.
- Collaborate in product development and provide feedback for manufacturability improvements.
Preferred candidate profile
- Qualification: Diploma (DME) or Bachelor's Degree (BE/B.Tech) in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering.
- Experience: 0-3 years in a fabrication or manufacturing setup involving MS, SS, Aluminium, and/or FRP composites.
- Technical Skills:
- Hands-on experience with fabrication processes (cutting, welding, forming, assembly).
- Knowledge of FRP manufacturing methods (hand lay-up, resin infusion, curing processes).
- Familiar with welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Arc).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
- Proficient in CAD tools like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar.
- Production Knowledge:
- Understanding of production planning, quality control, and lean manufacturing.
- Familiarity with shop floor operations and material handling.
- Soft Skills:
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Additional: Willingness to learn, adaptable to various tasks, and committed to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
