Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Python Backend Developer to join our dynamic team at Zeiss in Bangalore. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining robust backend services and scalable microservices using Python, with expertise in FastAPI, RESTful APIs, and Azure cloud. Proficiency in Kubernetes and modern microservice architecture is a must.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop efficient, reusable, and reliable backend components using Python and FastAPI.
- Develop, maintain, and document RESTful APIs to support web and mobile applications.
- Deploy, monitor, and manage microservices on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
- Ensure high performance and responsiveness of backend services.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and frontend teams to deliver integrated solutions.
- Apply best practices in security, logging, and error handling.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
- Automate deployment pipelines using Azure DevOps or similar tools.
Technical Skills Required:
- Strong experience (68 years) in Python backend development.
- Expertise in developing scalable APIs using FastAPI or Flask (FastAPI preferred).
- Proficient in designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Cloud Services (App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Storage, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration (preferably AKS).
- Solid understanding of microservices architecture and asynchronous communication patterns.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (preferably Azure DevOps).
- Familiarity with database technologies (SQL/NoSQL).
- Good understanding of authentication mechanisms (OAuth2, JWT).
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Education:
- Bachelor's or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Docker, message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ), or monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana).
- Prior work in a regulated domain (e.g., healthcare, manufacturing) is a plus.
