Job Title: Network and Security Engineer
Location: Nairobi, Kenya
Experience: 5+ Years
Employment: Full-Time
NP: Immediate to 30-45 Days
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Network and Security Engineer with 5 years of experience in designing, implementing, and securing enterprise networks. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Network Designing , network security, firewalls, VPNs, and cloud security, ensuring the integrity and availability of network infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, and manage network security solutions, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and proxies.
- Implement and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and load balancers.
- Monitor network performance, security threats, and respond to incidents proactively.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and risk analysis to ensure network security.
- Collaborate with IT teams to enforce security policies and best practices.
- Manage security configurations for cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Troubleshoot network connectivity and security-related issues efficiently.
- Maintain compliance with industry standards like ISO 27001, NIST, and GDPR.
- Document network infrastructure, security policies, and incident reports.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in network security and administration.
- Hands-on experience with firewalls (Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Checkpoint).
- Strong knowledge of routing and switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP, etc.).
- Expertise in VPN technologies (IPSec, SSL VPN, DMVPN).
- Experience with SIEM solutions, IDS/IPS, DLP, and endpoint security.
- Familiarity with cloud security in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Knowledge of security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Benchmarks).
- Experience with network automation and scripting (Python, Ansible, Terraform) is a plus.
- Certifications such as CCNP Security, CEH, CISSP, AWS Security Specialty, or Palo Alto PCNSE are preferred.

- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Additional Benefits:
-21 days leave entitlement on completion of a years service, which shall be accrued and exercised up on approval from Management after the completion of 2 years.
