About the Role:
We are seeking a Data Architect to lead the design and implementation of a robust enterprise Data Lake architecture, with a strong focus on enabling analytics and dashboarding through Power BI. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in building modern data platforms using DBT, Fivetran, and cloud-native technologies, and a track record of transforming data into insights for business users.
This is a high-impact role that requires hands-on technical expertise, architectural vision, and the ability to collaborate across engineering, analytics, and business teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Architect and lead the development of a cloud-based Data Lake that can ingest, transform, and serve large volumes of structured and semi-structured data.
Design and implement scalable ELT pipelines using Fivetran and DBT, ensuring performance, reusability, and maintainability.
Define and build data models that support analytical workloads and downstream consumption in Power BI.
Work closely with BI and business teams to ensure data structures meet reporting and self-service needs.
Drive data governance, quality, and security standards across the architecture.
Optimize data storage, access, and transformation for cost-efficiency and scalability.
Collaborate with cloud and infrastructure teams to ensure robust, secure, and automated deployments.
Mentor engineering teams on data modeling, DBT development, and Power BI enablement best practices.
Own the architecture roadmap and technical documentation for the data lake platform.
Required Qualifications:
8+ years of experience in Data Engineering or Data Architecture.
Proven experience in designing and building cloud-based Data Lakes (e.g., Azure Data Lake, AWS S3, or GCP).
Expertise in DBT for data transformation and Fivetran for automated ingestion.
Strong experience with data modeling techniques and dimensional modeling for analytics.
Hands-on experience in enabling and optimizing Power BI dashboards using curated data models.
Deep understanding of SQL, ELT processes, and data pipeline orchestration.
Proficiency with at least one cloud data warehouse: Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or Databricks.
Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD for data pipelines.
Familiarity with data governance, cataloging, and security frameworks.
Nice to Have:
Knowledge of Power BI datasets, row-level security, and DAX optimizations.
Experience with data observability platforms.
Background in supporting finance, operations, or sales analytics.
Familiarity with orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster) and scripting languages (Python).
