Job Description
- Responsibilities Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems and software on servers and workstations. Monitor system performance, troubleshoot problems, and ensure the stability, reliability, and security of Linux environments. Collaborate with IT teams to design and implement Linux-based solutions that align with business needs. Implement and manage security measures to safeguard systems from unauthorized access and ensure compliance with regulations. Perform regular backups and disaster recovery procedures to minimize data loss and maintain business continuity. Stay up-to-date on the latest Linux technologies and best practices. Automate tasks using scripting languages (e. g., Bash, Python) to improve efficiency. Document procedures and troubleshoot issues to ensure knowledge transfer. May provide technical support to users with Linux-related problems. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred). Desktop engineering, Network solutioning certification, AWS. Proven experience administering Linux systems (e. g., Red Hat, Ubuntu, Debian). Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols (e. g., TCP/IP). Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in scripting languages (a plus). Experience with cloud platforms (a plus). A minimum of 3 years of experience in Linux Skills : Strong Linux Administration : Experience with Linux servers, including file systems, and kernel, and familiarity with core services like DHCP, DNS, FTP, SSH, firewalls (iptables), and network file sharing (NFS, Samba). Virtualization : Knowledge of virtualization technologies and ideally, good experience with cloud platforms like AWS. Scripting and Automation : Ability to automate basic tasks using scripting languages like Bash. Web Server Management : Experience with web servers like Apache and Tomcat. Security and Patch Management : Proficient in Linux server security practices and patch management procedures. Additional Skills Storage Management : Familiarity with SAN, NAS storage, and partition management. Firewall Management : Experience with UTM firewalls, specifically Fortinet's FortiGate. Database Management : Hands-on experience troubleshooting MySQL and MongoDB databases. Hardware Support : Ability to troubleshoot Dell server hardware issues. RAID Configuration : Understanding of RAID technology and its implementation. Networking Expertise : Networking skills. (ref:hirist.tech),
