Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Server Support and Cloud Engineer to join our IT team. This role is responsible for maintaining and optimizing our server infrastructure and cloud services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in server management, cloud technologies, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and system optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Server Support:
- Install, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers.
- Monitor server performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
- Perform regular security monitoring to identify possible intrusions.
- Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis and upgrade administrative tools and utilities.
- Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning.
- Manage server backups, data recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and internal teams.
- Troubleshoot server-related issues and outages, and perform root cause analysis.
- Ensure the integrity and availability of server resources.
- Knowledge of Windows servers and active directory
- Cloud Services Management:
- Design, implement, and manage cloud-based infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Optimize cloud resources for cost-efficiency and performance.
- Ensure cloud services meet security and compliance requirements.
- Implement and manage cloud-based backup and recovery solutions.
- Monitor cloud services for availability, performance, and security.
- Collaborate with development teams to support continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) processes.
- Stay updated with the latest cloud technologies and trends, and recommend improvements.
- General IT Support:
- Assist in the development and maintenance of IT policies and procedures.
- Provide training and support to staff on IT systems and applications.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in server administration and support.
- 2+ years of experience managing cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Strong understanding of networking principles and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.).
- Knowledge of security best practices in both server and cloud environments.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, CompTIA Server+).
- MCSE
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Understanding of DevOps principles and CI/CD pipelines.
