Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Linux Administrator to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the administration, support, and maintenance of Linux servers and systems. This role will involve monitoring system performance, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and ensuring the stability and security of the infrastructure.
Qualification: UG / PG Graduates
Experience: 5+ Years
Location: Chennai, Bengaluru, Coimbatore
Work Time: Day and Night Shift / Rotational
Work Mode: Hybrid Model (3 Days work from office)
Notice Preferred: 0-30 Days.
Responsibility:
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux-based systems (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat).
- Manage user accounts and access controls.
- Perform system updates, patches, and backups.
- Monitor and analyze system performance and security logs.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and networking issues.
- Ensure high availability of systems through proactive management and timely issue resolution.
- Implement and manage security policies (firewalls, user permissions, file systems).
- Perform regular audits of system configurations and security measures.
- Automate administrative tasks using shell scripting or other tools.
- Collaborate with developers and other IT teams to deploy applications and services.
- Maintain and troubleshoot virtualized environments (VMware, KVM, Docker, etc.).
- Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
- Document all administrative tasks, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Linux Administrator or similar role in IT.
- Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems (e.g., CentOS, Red Hat, Ubuntu).
- Experience with server management, networking, and virtualization technologies.
- Hands-on experience with shell scripting (Bash, Python, etc.).
- Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
- Knowledge of security tools and practices (firewalls, intrusion detection systems).
- Proficiency with system monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, etc.).
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Good understanding of databases and web servers (MySQL, Apache, Nginx).
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Linux (Red Hat, CompTIA Linux+, or similar).
- Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
Education:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).
Experience:
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in Linux system administration
