Role & responsibilities
The Gas Turbine Intake and Exhaust Engineer will be responsible for developing packages for gas turbine auxiliary mechanical equipment, focusing on intake and exhaust systems. This role involves collaboration with external vendors to fabricate equipment that meets code, contract, and schedule requirements for power projects. The engineer will also ensure compliance with specifications and contribute to design improvements and cost reductions.
Responsibilities
Third-Party Equipment Procurement: Execute full-cycle procurement for Built-to-Specs and Built-to-Prints equipment, including specification, total cost analysis-based bid evaluation, technical negotiation, and purchase order initiation.
Post-PO Document Control & Integration: Conduct document reviews, release information for internal use, perform technical reviews, and manage mechanical, electrical, and I&C interfaces for plant integration.
Maintainability & Testing: Ensure equipment maintainability and accessibility through PDE/supplier 3D model reviews and witness functional/performance tests at supplier sites.
Project & Quality Management: Maintain project schedules, proactively address supplier deviations and field issues, and ensure timely ER/NCR close-out, updating the ERS database for generic cases.
Customer Support: Provide timely responses to customer document comments and questionnaires.
Equipment Specification & Design Review: Define, specify, and procure equipment, including vendor evaluation and technical recommendations. Create and review equipment layouts, foundation designs, and vendor designs for code and requirement compliance.
Technical Analysis & Calculations: Perform calculations to ensure proper equipment sizing and performance.
Coordination & Communication: Facilitate design coordination between stakeholders, manage vendor communication, and address technical inquiries.
Quality & Compliance: Ensure adherence to quality standards, codes, and project requirements, including test result analysis and corrective actions.
Process & Scheduling: Develop standard drawings, specifications, and project schedules, optimizing resource use.
Interface Management: Interpret technical documents (P&IDs) and manage system interface requirements.
