Job Description
Our client, a Leading MNC, is currently hiring a Sr Piping Designer/ Engineer for their Design Center in Mumbai.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee project and material management from manufacturing through to installation, including handling bagging/tagging, spools, and field logistics specific to piping systems.
- Review and verify piping drawings, Bill of Materials (BOMs), and ensure compliance with piping standards and specifications.
- Collaborate and provide feedback on piping projects managed by the Global Design Center (GDC); participate in coordination meetings.
- Uphold Piping Division procedures and policies.
- Assist Sales with Piping System Drawing Quotes as necessary.
- Travel to job sites for field measurements and customer engagements related to piping installations.
- Engage in Lean initiatives and contribute to the Quality Improvement Process for piping projects.
- Create piping design documentation (layouts, isometrics, spool sheets, BOMs) using Revit or similar design software.
- Conduct project reviews, kick-off meetings, and maintain effective communication with customers regarding piping systems.
- Develop and coordinate Building Execution Plans (BEP) for piping project handovers between GDC and other departments.
- Provide weekly updates to the Project Lead and support project closure for piping-related projects.
- Prepare Advanced BOMs and assist customer care teams in material delivery for piping systems.
- Review incoming piping projects and create Drawing Quotes.
- Collaborate with Estimating, Specification, and Software Development teams for piping-focused projects.
- Train and mentor Draftspersons, Trainees, and Interns in piping design and project management.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- 5+ years of experience in engineering/design, preferably within HVAC or Industrial piping systems.
- Proficient in Excel, Microsoft Word, AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit is advantageous for piping projects.
- Occasional travel (less than 5%) required, both domestically and internationally, related to piping installations.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and project management abilities in piping systems.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Proficiency in English and Hindi.
