Job Description

Job Description The L1 Engineer will be instrumental in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining hardware components of servers, storage systems, and networking equipment. This role is vital for ensuring the robustness and efficiency of our IT infrastructure offerings and providing clients with top-tier support. Responsibilities: Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware issues related to servers, storage systems, and networking devices. Perform hands-on repairs, hardware installations, and firmware updates on equipment. Respond swiftly to alerts or emergency issues, ensuring minimal downtime. Collaborate with the technical team for escalated issues requiring L2 or L3 support. Install, configure, and maintain server OS, storage solutions, and networking configurations. Monitor system performance, ensuring optimal operations and minimising disruptions. Document all actions, tests, and repairs in a clear and comprehensive manner. Requirements Proven experience as an L1 Engineer or similar role focusing on servers, storage, or networking. Strong understanding of server hardware, storage solutions (SAN, NAS, DAS), and networking devices (routers, switches, firewalls). Technical expertise in diagnosing and addressing hardware and basic software issues. Familiarity with various server OS, RAID configurations, and networking protocols. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Good communication skills to interact with clients effectively and team members.
