Job Description
- Supplier Management:
- Work with the procurement team to identify, evaluate, and select suppliers that meet quality standards for 2-wheeler electrical vehicle components (such as batteries, motors, controllers, wiring, etc.).
- Conduct supplier audits and on-site inspections to assess their capabilities and compliance with company standards.
- Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key suppliers, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Quality Control and Inspection:
- Monitor incoming materials and components for conformance to specifications, ensuring they meet quality requirements and safety standards.
- Perform root cause analysis on any defects, performance issues, or discrepancies, and work with suppliers to implement corrective actions.
- Ensure all incoming materials are inspected, tested, and documented, adhering to industry standards and internal protocols.
- Quality Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain and update quality records and supplier performance metrics (e.g., PPAP, FAI, and non-conformance reports).
- Prepare detailed reports on supplier quality performance, non-conformances, and corrective actions taken.
- Collaborate with the internal quality team to monitor the success of corrective actions and drive improvements.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to optimize supplier quality processes, reduce defects, and improve the overall supply chain.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives, including supplier training programs, quality improvement workshops, and cost-effective quality solutions.
- Collaboration:
- Work with cross-functional teams including engineering, production, procurement, and R&D to ensure that all quality and performance standards are met during the product development and manufacturing phases.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure that design specifications are clear and achievable from a supplier perspective.
- Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure all supplier processes and materials comply with regulatory standards and industry certifications (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949).
- Support the company's commitment to sustainability by ensuring that suppliers align with environmental and sustainability objectives.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Supplier Quality Assurance, preferably within the automotive or electric vehicle industry.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949) and quality tools (e.g., FMEA, 8D, SPC).
- Experience with electrical components and systems in the 2-wheeler electric vehicle space, including batteries, motors, and controllers.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external suppliers.
- Ability to travel to supplier sites and manufacturing plants as needed.
Job Purpose:
The Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) will be responsible for ensuring the quality of the components and materials supplied by vendors for our 2-wheeler electrical vehicles. This role involves working closely with suppliers to implement quality standards, assess performance, resolve quality issues, and drive continuous improvement to meet high standards for safety, reliability, and performance.
