Role Responsibilities Manage and maintain PostgreSQL database instances. Design, implement, and optimize database schemas. Monitor database performance and conduct tuning as necessary. Execute regular database backups and recovery processes. Develop and maintain SQL scripts for data manipulation. Configure and manage replication for data availability. Troubleshoot and resolve database issues promptly. Ensure data security and integrity within the database environment. Utilize monitoring tools to track database health. Manage user roles and permissions for database access. Implement disaster recovery plans for database security. Perform software upgrades and patching for PostgreSQL. Collaborate with development teams to support application needs. Document database procedures and best practices. Stay updated on PostgreSQL features and enhancements. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field. Minimum 3 years of experience with PostgreSQL administration. Proficient in PostgreSQL installation and configuration. Strong understanding of SQL and PL/pgSQL. Experience in database performance tuning techniques. Familiarity with backup and recovery best practices. Knowledge of replication setups in PostgreSQL. Proven troubleshooting skills in a database environment. Experience with database security practices. Understanding of cloud database solutions is a plus. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Attention to detail and strong analytical skills. Certification in PostgreSQL is a plus. Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
