Job Description: We are looking for a skilled Azure Scripting & Automation Engineer with 5-6 years of experience in automating and managing Azure infrastructure. The ideal candidate should have a strong engineering background, expertise in powershell scripting, Azure CLI, Azure automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and a solid understanding of Azure cloud, Microsoft Windows and Linux OS.
Key Responsibilities:
Automate provisioning and configuration of Azure resources (VMs, vNet, Storage, VPN Gateway, AKS, backups, ASR etc.) using PowerShell scripts.
Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
Automate Windows OS updates and patching across multiple servers using PowerShell DSC and Azure Update Manager.
Review current automation scripts, optimize or convert into IaC for improving performance, availability, and cost efficiency.
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including Product Engineering, Support, Services, and Application Monitoring to ensure alignment with business requirements and objectives.
Provide support for incident resolution, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis, particularly for infrastructure-related issues.
Participate in on-call rotation and provide support during weekends, nights, and public holidays as required.
Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
5-6 years of hands-on experience in Azure cloud infrastructure management, administration and automation.
Strong understanding of Azure services and architecture, including VMs, VNETs, storage, AD, AKS, backups, ASR, VDI, and OS patching.
Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) using ARM templates, PowerShell, or Terraform is highly desirable.
Willingness to work in shifts, including weekends, nights, and public holidays.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate across teams and articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Associate are a plus.
