Job Description:
A Cloud Design Engineer links the Product Development/ Support teams and the Cloud operations team, performing operational tasks to ensure the smooth deployment and operation of Ramco ERP applications.
Design, set up, and manage compute and storage environments on AWS and Azure. Run production environments by monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system health.
Education Qualification: Engineering Degree (CS, ECE, EEE preferred) or MCA with good academic background
Experience: 7- 10 years
Experience / Skills Required
- In-depth knowledge of AWS and Azure platforms.
- Expertise in Identity and Access Management. Exposure to Active Directory and Domain Controller, Group policies and user authentication.
- Expertise on scripting tools like CLI, PowerShell, Lambda, Python, and Terraform.
- Hands-on Systems Administration of Windows and Linux platforms with experience in Patch Management.
- Exposure to native cloud monitoring tools
- Experience in configuring Load balancing and Auto-scale sets.
- Exposure to network fundamentals such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and Routing, BGP and experience in configuring network tunnels (IPSEC, P2S, AWS/Azure VPN, Direct Connect / Express Route).
- Exposure to SFTP and SSL protocols and features like WAF.
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
- Problem solving skills, ability to analyze, resolve complex infrastructure issues.
- Certification on AWS or Azure is desirable
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop architecture blueprints and detailed documentation. Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance.
- Design and deploy scalable, fault-tolerant Virtual Private Cloud environments including subnets, server instance, storage instances, availability zones, etc.
- Create a bill of materials for required Cloud Services (such as EC2, S3 etc.) and tools.
- Windows and/or Linux, networking and troubleshooting experience
- Leverage appropriate AWS/Azure services and implement monitoring and service capacity planning strategies
- Meet security and compliance controls, respond to internal and customer audit requirements.
- Implement and monitor Backup and DR policies.
- Migrate infrastructure from one cloud provider to the other with minimal impact and downtime.
- Work closely with Customer support teams, AWS/Azure teams to design, implement new environments / interfaces or troubleshoot issues.
- Provide primary operational support to the core infrastructure team and handle escalations.
