Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. 15 years of experience in cloud computing, distributed systems, and software engineering. 15 years of experience in technical innovation within cross-functional engineering environments. 10 years of experience leading teams of software engineers in cloud-based or open source projects. Preferred qualifications: Experience leading an engineering team to successfully build and scale a distributed system. Experience building and operating end-user facing production services. About The Job As the Software Engineering Director for Cloud Observability in Hyderabad, youll be the foundation of our team in India, responsible for hiring the team and developing them into a high-performing engineering organization. Youll oversee the migration of existing Application Monitoring projects (Cloud Error Reporting, Uptime Monitoring, and Cloud Profiler) to the team in Hyderabad, ensuring continuity for our customers and stakeholders. Youll also ramp up a new effort to improve the usability and integration of third-party observability tools with Google Cloud and Gemini Cloud Assist, our intelligent assistant that helps Google Cloud Platform (GCP) customers operate and troubleshoot their production services. Youll directly lead and drive the continuous growth of the engineering team, working closely with product managers, tech leads, engineering managers, and program managers to define and execute on the Cloud Observability roadmap. This team will be critical to the success of App Hub and Gemini Cloud Assist through its work on application monitoring. In this role, you will also work with cross-functional leaders in AppEco to grow the engineering presence in the Hyderabad and Bengaluru offices, help oversee other AppEco teams in Hyderabad and Bengaluru, provide a clear vision and strategy for the team, and enable the team to be an autonomous engineering unit as a part of the global workforce for AppEco. Work with cross-functional leaders in AppEco to get alignment on the roadmaps, and oversee the execution and delivery of the engineering projects owned by the Hyderabad and Bengaluru teams. ,
