Job Description
Role & responsibilities
- Conduct daily rounds of ICU , assessment of patients and to define treatment plan.
- Management of adverse events or complications
- Performing procedures including endotracheal intubation, placement of invasive lines, etc. as and when required in the ICU.
- To accompany primary consultant on ICU round and discuss important and relevant issues
- To participate and organize training activities and academic sessions of critical care team, nursing department and other associated departments like anaesthesiology, cardiac surgery
- Administrative management of ICU in coordination with nursing. To assign specific administrative responsibilities to Clinical Associate/ Sr.Resident.
- Actively participate in presentations of CMEs and Journal clubs.
- To be available on call after working hours for clinical/administrative ICU issues.
- Treat patients and perform clinical procedures as per the clinical privileges authorized.
- Assisting senior consultants and consultant in managing OPD, IPD & Emergencies patients.
- Doing the medical procedure as per the consultant doctors advice/supervision after getting the consent from patients attendant.
- Check the diet chart, medicine chart, vitals chart frequently.
- Maintaining good relationship with staff, patients and their attendants
- Reporting to the duty in time as per the roster
- Strictly adhering to the medical ethics & management rules & regulations.
- To work collectively with the Nursing In charge to bring about quality improvement in the department.
- To ascertain the strict implementation of various working protocols like BLS, ACLS and infection control.
